Workshop

Before starting to work, it is necessary to collect a minimum of tools. Rest assured, the water rocket does not require much and this is one of its many advantages.

First of all, you must have a work surface (old table, workbench) that will be protected if necessary to prevent it from being damaged by cutters, spray guns and other paints. This protection can be strong cardboard (packaging recovery) or a hardboard or simply paper if it is to protect against painting.

For the rest, the essential tools are: Cutters, pair of scissors, graduated ruler, 15x15mm angle iron 30 to 50 cm long, fine indelible markers and strong adhesive tape (electrician type or reinforced with fiberglass).

Two other do-it-yourself tools are extremely practical for clean bottle cutting.

It is first of all a "tracing box" which is a half rectangular parallelepiped 30 to 40 cm long and 4x4 cm on the side, according to the diagram below.

The small side (green in the drawing) can be a little higher (5 cm) to be able to trace 2 liter bottles.

The other tool to do yourself is quite simply a 3x3 cm cleat and 20 to 30 cm long.

We will see in the construction chapter, the usefulness of these two tools.

Of course, depending on the degree of sophistication of the project, other tools may be necessary, but already with those mentioned above, most of the needs are covered.

The table below gives a list of tools for a “comfortable” workshop.
